A seamless tortoise-neck jumper named after a lovely Roald Dahl novel, Esio Trot is a cosy, casual and fun to knit garment. Worked with two yarns held together, a fingering merino and a mohair silk, it is reversible with the option of having stockinette or reverse stockinette stitch as the main texture. The modified drop shoulder and short rows sleeve caps bring a better fit to the jumper, without too much fabric bulk in the underarm areas.

Materials: 3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 5) skeins Ochre Yarn 306 4 ply (fingering weight) - 60% Australian Merino/35% Tibetan Yak/5% Silk (400 metres/437 yards per 100 grams). Pictured in Eggshell. 6 (7, 7, 8, 9, 10) balls Kremke Soul Wool Silky Kid 2 ply (lace weight) - 72% Mohair/28% Silk (210 metres/230 yards per 25 grams). Pictured in Natural White.

If substituting yarn, you’ll need 1114 (1307, 1469, 1607, 1775, 1956) metres/1217 (1428, 1605, 1756, 1939, 2137) yds of each yarn.

If a turtleneck is not suitable, the neckband can be finished after 10 rounds, as seen in the blue version.
