Elvira Hat

Here is the pattern from our 2020 Advent Calendar – the beautiful Elvira Hat. The hat is solid-colored with a delicate cable pattern and matches the Elvira Mittens. It is knitted in our own soft Önling No 2 yarn but can also be knitted in Önling No 1 or Önling No 3, which will give a slightly denser result. The ribbed edge is folded double to keep your ears nice and warm during the cold winter months.

50 g / 2 balls Önling No 2, 100% merino wool, 25 g = approx. 131 yards (120 meters), weight: sport
Worked with one strand Önling No 2 throughout.

100 g / 2 balls Önling No 3, 100% heavy organic merino wool, 50 g = approx. 145 yards (133 meters), weight: DK / Worsted
Worked with one strand Önling No 3 throughout.

Recommended circular or double-pointed needles size 3½ and 4 mm / US 4 and 6

5 stitch markers

Gauge
24 sts and 30 rows of stockinette stitch on needle size 4 mm / US 6 = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches.

Procedure
The hat is worked in the round, from the bottom up, beginning with a rib edge and continued in the cable pattern from either chart or text. The hat is worked straight up and finished by decreasing at the top.
