Elena’s shawl is a semicircular shawl worked from side to side. Body and edge are worked simultaneously and shaping is made by increasing and decreasing stitches at the body lace edge.
The garter stitch used for the body is coupled with a stylized and clean lace edge, resulting in a simple and elegant shawl.

The width of the shawl can be easily modified by increasing or decreasing the number of repeats.

GAUGE after blocking: 25 sts x 39.5 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm / 4” x 4” in garter stitch.
Gauge is not critical; different gauge will only affect finished size and yardage.
FINISHED SIZE (after blocking) 225 cm x 55 cm / 88.5” x 21.75” (at the largest point).

MATERIALS:
Sock/Fingering-weight yarn, approx 1250 m / 1375 yrds.
(Yarn used for the sample: Eden Cottage Yarns Milburn 4 ply, 85% BFL, 15% Silk; 200 m/50 gr; color: Steel)
3.25 mm / US 3 circular needle 60 cm/ 23” long or longer or size to obtain gauge.

Lo scialle Elena è uno scialle semicircolare lavorato trasversalmente.
Corpo e bordo traforato sono lavorati simultaneamente e la forma è ottenuta grazie a aumenti e diminuzioni lavorati lungo il bordo inferiore del corpo.
Il punto legaccio è accostato ad un punto traforato semplice e pulito, risultando in un accessorio raffinato e elegante.
L’ampiezza dello scialle può essere facilmente modificata aumentando o diminuendo il numero di volte in cui la ripetizione base è lavorata.

Tensione: 24 maglie e 44 ferri = 10 cm a maglia legaccio dopo un leggero bloccaggio
La tensione non è cruciale; una diversa tensione modificherà unicamente le dimensioni finali e la quantità di filato necessario.
Misure del capo finite (dopo bloccaggio): 225 cm x 55 cm (misurati nel punto più largo).
