Dogs is a classic beanie worked in houndstooth patterned double knitting bottom up. The beanie comes in three sizes and two lengths. The pattern is written with a beginner at double knitting in mind and contains both a page about the principles of double knitting and links to several video tutorials (note that in the tutorials the person is knitting continental style). There are two cast ons to choose from at the beanie begins with a section of plain double knitting to aid you getting the hang of the technique.

A-(B)-C for head circumference approx. 53/56-(57/59)-60/63 cm ≈ 21/22.25-(22.5/23.25)-23.5/25”, see schematic and measurements below.

GAUGE
26 sts x 34 r = 10 x 10 cm ≈ 4 x 4” over double knitting on 3 mm needles after blockning.

NEEDLES
3 mm (US 2,5) circular needle, 40 cm/16” long + 3 mm (US 2,5) DPNs for the crown (or long circular needle for Magic loop).
Always use a needle that gives you the correct gauge.
