This is a very meaningful pattern for me. I designed and knitted it during December. On December 27th, 2023, we lost our 17 year old granddaughter to brain cancer. It has been a terribly difficult journey for our family, though we are all immensely thankful for the precious time we did have with her.

Hospice nurses were essential for her care and we especially are thankful for one nurse, who became a friend. Dawn is a truly wonderful nurse and a compassionate and lovely person. She was special to our granddaughter and to our entire family.

I cannot say enough about the Hospice organization and how much they do for people in our situation. This was so hard and the sadness is still overwhelming at times. But knowing they were there for us has made the intolerable a little easier.

Thank you, Dawn, and all the beautiful souls who help those in our times of need.

The shawl is a crescent shape and big enough to wear easily. It’s got nice, deep lace at the bottom and a touch of lace at the top edge also. In between, there are stockinette/stocking stitch short rows with complete instructions for accomplishing this. The charts are big and easy to read. There are also written directions for the charts for those who prefer not to use charts.

I am keeping the price of this shawl low, so all can afford it.
