Take Two, Collection One - Crochet is almost available! The premise of Take Two is that two designers (Fay Dashper-Hughes and Lynne Rowe) each designed four patterns. We then swapped patterns over and recreated them using different yarns, or hook sizes or changing small elements of the original pattern. Within the Take Two you get the original eight patterns and the details of the ‘take two’ designs, sixteen designs in total.

Colosseum:
This shallow shawl was inspired by a trip to Rome and the crumbling magnificence of the Colosseum. This pattern is easy to follow and the chosen stitches make for a light fabric that when paired with a beautiful yarn such as Whistlebare Yeavering Bell, creates an elegant shawl.

The pattern is extremely versatile and could also be crocheted on lace weight or bulky yarn to create different shawls. E encourage you to change it up and make a Colosseum that suits your yarn choices.

Yarn:
Whistlebare Yeavering Bell 4ply (Mohair/Wensleydale mix) 350m/383yds per 100g skein.
100g required and shade Sloe Velvet was used int he pattern.

Size:
160cm long and 21cm deep

Hook and notions:
3mm (US C/2 or D/3)
I had yarn leftover and other colours, also in Yeavering Bell 4ply and so asked Tania at TJ Frog to make a matching Dorst Button for the shawl. It really adds a finishing touch to the shawl.

Time to make:
This hallow shawl took me 16 hours to crochet.

Gauge:
33sts over 10cm

This pattern is currently only available as part of Take Two (Collection One - Crochet).
