Color by Number Zig-Zag Mitts
Color by Number patterns are made with striping, picked up stitches, and a couple yarn-carrying tricks to make for as little finishing as possible, no complex techniques like stranded knitting or intarsia!
This design is part of the Coloring Book ebook, which is a collection of knit accessory patterns all designed to make the most of your colors!
These fun mitts are knit modularly, in five sections, each section striping between two colors. Choose 3 different colors as the backgrounds, and one contrasting shade as the zig-zag stripes which cut through all the sections.
While the sample is made in subtly variegated colorways, these mitts will also look great in bold solids, perhaps even a bright neon for the zig-zag!
Each mitt is worked flat, then sewn together into a tube, leaving a thumbhole as large as you like. The length around is completely customizable, to fit your hand, and the height is easily adjustable.
This individual pattern is for just the Zig-Zag Mitts; the complete Color by Number set includes the pattern for these mitts, along with the six other sample items and full customizing details.
Color chart
The color chart is given as a color-by-number grid, so that you can fill in the colors you want to use! At the end, you’ll find some blank drawings of the mitt with the color numbers filled in, so that you can break out the colored pencils and try out some ideas.
