A versatile shawl that wears like a scarf!

I bought the yarn for the prototype at NY Sheep & Wool in 2016 and in 2019 I decided to convert it from Souvenir Yarn to an actual project. I designed this pattern to be very flexible in terms of gauge, size, and yarn weight needed.

After making it in a hand-paint, I’ve gone on to make it in gradients, solids, and stripes. You can scale it up or down to suit your preferences.

Most of the knitting is somewhere between “relaxing” and “boring” so it’s perfect to work on while you socialize, watch TV, or listen to podcasts or music. I’ve included instructions for the three variations pictured here, but you should definitely experiment with your own ideas.

If you’ve been to Rhinebeck, you probably know all about the apple cider donuts. If you’ve never had one, then I’ll tell you now, you have a great treat waiting for you some day.

200 grams of a fingering weight yarn will make a generously sized shawl/scarf hybrid.
