This striped hat and scarf set combines the colors of the 70’s with a modern look and feel using super bulky yarn. Not only are they thick and warm, but the set can be made in just a few hours. And the color combinations are endless!

The brim of the hat is made first and then the body is worked in rounds from the bottom to the top. There are photo tutorial instructions for doing an invisible round join and how to add a new color. The pattern also includes an optional messy bun style.

This trendy fringed scarf will keep your neck warm while making a fashion statement. The buttons are permanently sewn on so they cannot be unbuttoned. It is simply placed over your head and rests on your shoulder.

Yarn required for the pattern is super bulky #6 weight, approximately 65 yards of the main color is used for the hat and 78 yards of the main color for the scarf, US size N (10 mm) crochet hook, four 1-inch buttons, optional faux fur pom pom, optional elastic band for messy bun hat, yarn needle and scissors.

I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn, but any #6 weight yarn can be substituted.
