From the book of the same name, we have all sorts of imagery to play with here. This cape style shawl has 5 wedges which are divided by gorgeous cables. The cable and lace wedges remind me of the dog sleds, crossing paths in the snow, Beads add glisten to that snow, hanging off of the tips of evergreen branches.

SUPPLIES
Yarn: Yarn Fairy Silky Lace, 875 yds/100g, 4 skeins, many colors to choose from, 3480 yards overall.

Needle: Size US 2/2.75mm, 40 inch circular or size needed to get gauge

Hook: US size 14/.70mm ChiaoGoo for 8/0 beads Lacis US 16(18)/.40mm for 6mm beads

Beads:

• Size 8/0 transparent Rainbow, 594-20g & 746 for beaded edging option
• Fringe 4.3x4mm transparent Rainbow, 180-10g
• Czech Druk, light blue and black 6mm, 36
• Celestial Crystal, glass, 26-facet flat round, black, 6mm, 18

Notions:

• Clasp for neck
• tapestry needle for ends
• sewing needle and thread for clasp

Gauge: 20 stitches, 28 rows over 4 inches, stockinette stitch, gently blocked Unblocked 32 stitches 40 rows

Note about gauge: due to the cables we are “push” blocking instead of “pull” which results in a different gauge, then standard pull blocking.

Finished Measurements: TBD nape down back panel approximately 45” wingspan 85 inches.

Fae Level: Intermediate/experienced due to many charts worked across each row.
