Trees tower overhead in the dissipating July evening heat, reaching their branches over the land to shade it from the sun’s midafternoon shimmer. The tallgrass waves in reply, rippling and undulating as the wind sweeps up any extra rays from reaching the shadier spots. Zephyrs gently brush the cotton gauze clouds across a pure blue sky while barefoot friendships frolic, momentarily slipping away from the current day troubles.
