Burberrish Cowl
This pattern was born of my need to reverse engineer anything put in front of me. My friend Yusuf showed me a picture of a Burberry cowl he had seen with an unusual cable pattern that he wanted to make – with the slight problem that he couldn’t find an exact match for the cable pattern. An hour or so with some coloured pencils and squeaky acrylic later, I had cracked the pattern. Here’s Yusuf in the cowl – doesn’t he look dapper?
The cowl can be adapted to any width you wish by adding or subtracting repeats of the pattern in brackets. It can also be made into a scarf by adding length and using a traditional cast on and bind off. Obviously, if you adapt the pattern, your yarn mileage may vary.
Notes on how to reverse engineer a cable pattern are available here
Edit: while the pattern specifies a three needle bind off, grafting/kitchener stitch would also work very well for those who are so inclined.
