Feb 4, 2022 Note: This design is getting a makeover! After a few years my design style has developed further and I’m revisiting this design so that I can reformat the file and make the instructions more clear, as well as tweak the pattern slightly to make it better :) It will be released soon, with a discount available!

This hat was inspired by a character in Bojack Horseman – Princess Carolyn (an animated cat) wore a slouchy beret version of this design and I knew that I had to have a hat just like it. This hat is versatile and can be adapted to several gauges and styles. Left unblocked, it’s a snug fit across the whole body of the hat, while blocking will allow it to create more of the slouchy look achieved by Princess Carolyn, by stretching out the twisted ribbing throughout the body. Adding a pompom gives it a real flair, and will weigh down the back to give it that slouchier look.
This hat has one size, but blocking will allow some leniency in the sizing. It is knit from the bottom up, with simple crown shaping to finish it up.

Here is a link to the project page for the sample.
