Blur
Use up leftover mini-balls of yarn for these simple, stretchy, ribbed fingerless mitts with stripes that blend and blur together!
- make stripes blur together with easy slipped stitches
- designed for using up leftover yarns, around 15-30 yards/meters per color
- could be made with one main yarn and one contrasting yarn instead, for a totally different look
- ribbing makes the mitts stretchy and comfortable
- written for 3 sizes in DK weight, with notes for changing gauge, adjusting size, etc
- making the mitts two-at-a-time is recommended for matching stripes and using up all your yarn leftover mini-balls
This pattern was designed to go with the Infinite Twist Krewe kits, to use up the leftover yarns after making a Krewe cowl.
The pattern is minimal (since it’s free), but it includes links to online tutorials, for knitting two-at-a-time, weaving in your ends as you knit, and other techniques used, as well as some process photos.
You need

DK weight yarn in lots of small leftover balls, 100-175 yards / 90-160 meters total (for both mitts, depending on size) -- samples are in Infinite Twist Helix, around 15-30 yards/meters each of 7 colors: Dovecote (separated into 3 stripes), Sunflower, Nancypants, Marigold, Sakura, Meringue, and Ebi
-
notes are included for using different weights
-
size US 4 / 3.5mm needles; a long (40”/100cm or longer) circular to work the two-at-a-time magic loop method, or needles of your choice (circular or double pointed) to work each mitt in the round one-at-a-time instead
