“Blanca” is my dreamy sweater, it has everything I love in it. I hope you love it as muchs as I do.

This garment is knitted from the bottom up in the round, starting with a 1x1 ribbing waistband. The body is knitted in stockinette stitch adding some random yarn scraps of different colors and textures. Followed by a colorwork motif worked just before separating front and back. Then the front and back are worked separately making short rows in the back for a higher shaping back neck. The shoulders are joined by using an exposed seam with three needle binf-off technique. The sleeves are picked up and knitted in seed stitch, making decreases just before the cuffs to create a balloon effect, the cuffs are knitted in 1x1 ribbing band. The stitches of the collar are picked up and worked in 1x1 ribbed pattern as well. Both the body and sleeves have yarn over holes just before de hem and cuffs, to pass cords through them. These cords can be replaced for braids or scrap yarns.
Finally, some horizontal lines are embroidery at the front of the garment.

DETAILS

Sizes: (2, 3, 4, 5) equivalent to 128 (142, 156, 170, 184) cm of chest circumference (finished measurements) with 50 - 60 cm of positive ease. (sample shown in size 2, in a body of 84 cm of chest circumference and 58 cm of positive ease).

Gauge: 11 sts x 21 rows = 10 cm, measured over stockinette stitch and larger needles, after blocking.

Yarn: approx 1050 (1150, 1270, 1370, 1500) meters of chunky weight yarn.

Needles: 6.0 mm circular needles, with a cable of 80 cm (or the required needle size to get gauge), for the body.
6.0 mm circular needles with a cable of 35 cm, for the sleeves.
4.5 mm needles with a cable of 80 cm for the hem.
4.5 mm DPNs or short circular needles or circular needles with a cable length appropiate for magic loop for the cuffs and collar.

Notions: 1 stitch marker for BOR, stitch markers for colorwork motif (optional), tapestry needle, stitch holders or scrap yarn, pins and mats for blocking.

Note about the yarn: The yarn used in this garment is completely free. In this pattern you will find just a few directions about changes of color, since you can do it as freely as you want. The only important thing is that you get to the chunky weight, which you can get with 1 strand of chunky weight, 1 strand of worsted and 1 strand of fingering, 2 strands of DK, 1 strand of DK and 2 of fingering and so. You can also use lace mohair or suri yarns without affecting de gauge. Please be free and have fun!

“Blanca” es el sweater de mis sueños: tiene todo lo que amo en él. Espero que te guste tanto como a mí.

Esta prenda está tejida desde abajo hacia arriba en redondo, comenzando con un elástico de 1x1. El cuerpo está tejido en punto jersey añadiendo sobras de lana en diferentes colores y texturas. Se trabaja un motivo de jaquard antes de separar el delantero de la espalda haciendo vueltas cortas para dar forma a la parte trasera del cuello. Los hombros se unen con un costura expuesta en color contrastante utilizando la técnica de cierre de tres agujas. Los puntos para las mangas de levantan y estas se trabajan en punto arroz, haciendo disminuciones justo antes de los puños para crear un efecto de manga globo, los puños se tejen en elástico 1x1. Los puntos del cuello también se levantan y se trabajan en elástico 1x1. Tanto el cuerpo como las mangas tienen lazadas que forman agujeros justo antes de la pretina y los puños, para luego pasar los cordones a través de ellos. Estos cordones pueden ser reemplazados por trenzas o restos de lana. Finalmente, se bordan algunas líneas verticales en el delantero de la prenda.

Muestra: 11 p x 21 vtas = 10 cm, medido sobre punto jersey con las agujas más grandes, después del bloqueo.

Hilado: aprox 1050 (1150, 1270, 1370, 1500) metros de hilado grosor chunky.

Agujas: Agujas circulares de 6.0 mm, con un cable de 80 cm (o aguja requerida para obtener la muestra), para el cuerpo.
Agujas circulares de 6.0 mm con un cable de 35 cm, para las mangas.
Agujas circulares de 4.5 mm con un cable de 80 cm para la pretina.
Agujas de doble punta, o agujas circulares cortas o agujas circulares con un largo de cable apropiado para hacer magic loop de 4.5 mm, para los puños y el cuello.

Otros materiales: 1 marcador de punto para el CV, marcadores de punto para el motivo de jaquard (opcionales), aguja de lana, sujetadores de punto o hilado de desecho, mats y pines de bloqueo.

Nota sobre el hilado: El hilado usado en esta prenda es completamente libre. En este patrón solo encontrarás algunas instrucciones sobre cambios de color, ya que puedes hacerlo tan libremente como quieras. Lo único importante es que consigas el grosor chunky, el cual puedes lograr con 1 hebra de grosor chunky, 1 hebra de worsted y 1 hebra de fingering, 2 hebras de DK, 1 hebra de DK y 2 hebras de fingering, y así.
