About the design

This design is a gift. And why make a gift? The first answer is why not?, but I have another reason. Although I learned to knit when I was a child, since I discovered and entered to the contemporary world of knitting, I have benefited multiple times from free content: tutorials, guides, videos, etc, which have taught me endless techniques that I didn‘t know and have become an infinite source of knowledge for me. Although I have also benefited from paid material that I value very much and that is worth every penny, this gift is a humble return to those who have given me knowledge and entertainment without asking for anything in return.
About the design itself, it is inspired by Talking Heads band songs, which I have always found fun, fast-paced, different and original. I knitted and designed this sweater listening that songs and for the same reason, I decided to give it that name.
I hope you like this small contribution to the world of knitting and that you feel free to make it yours by playing with colors, textures, etc. I really enjoyed designing it and I hope you enjoy knitting it.
The sweater is knitted from the bottom up in parts (back and forth) that are then sewn up to the armhole. The shoulders are joined using the kitchener stitch technique, then the stitches around the armoholes are picked-up to knit the sleeves in the round and top down. The collar stitches are also picked up to be worked in the round. Details such as the under-cuffs and under-collar ribbing are also made by picking up stitches from the inside of the garment and the upper sleeve ribbing uses the same techniques.

Sizes: 1, 2, 3 (4, 5, 6) 7, 8, 9 equivalent to 115, 120, 125 (135, 145, 155) 170, 185, 200 cm of chest circumference (finished measurements) with 30 - 40 cm of positive ease. (sample shown in size 2, in a body with 84 cm of chest circumference and 36 cm of positive ease).

Gauge: 16 sts x 32 rows = 10 cm, measured over stockinette stitch and larger needles, after blocking.

Yarn: Approx a total of 920, 960, 1004 (1082, 1162, 1244) 1360, 1480, 1600 meters of DK weight yarn.

Notions: 1 stitch marker for BOR, 1 lock marker for RS, tapestry needle, stitch holders or scrap yarn, mats and pins for blocking.

Sobre el diseño

Este diseño es un regalo. ¿Y por qué hacer un regalo? la primera respuesta es ¿y por qué no?, pero tengo otro motivo. Si bien aprendí a tejer cuando era una niña, al descubrir y entrar en el mundo contemporáneo del tejido me he visto beneficiada múltiples veces de contenido gratuito: tutoriales, guías, videos, etc. que me han enseñado un sinfín de técnicas que no conocía y que se han vuelto una fuente conocimiento infinita para mí. Si bien también me he beneficiado de material de pago que valoro mucho y que vale cada centavo, este regalo es una humilde devolución a quienes me han regalado conocimiento y entretención sin pedir nada a cambio.
Sobre el diseño mismo, está inspirado en las canciones de la banda Talking Heads, que siempre me han parecido divertidas, vertiginosas, diferentes y originales. Tejí y diseñé este sweater escuchando esas canciones y por lo mismo decidí darle ese nombre.
Espero que les guste este pequeño aporte al mundo del tejido y que se sientan libres de hacerlo suyo jugando con los colores, las texturas y todo lo que se les ocurra. Yo disfruté mucho diseñándolo y espero que ustedes disfruten mucho tejiéndolo.
El sweater está tejido de abajo hacia arriba en partes (en plano) que luego se cosen hasta la sisa. Los hombros se unen mediante la técnica del punto kitchener, para luego levantar puntos alrededor del agujero de cada manga y tejerlas en redondo de arriba hacia abajo. Los puntos del cuello también se levantan para ser tejido en redondo. Los detalles como los elásticos interiores de los puños y el cuello también se realizan levantando puntos desde el interior de la prenda y el elástico que va por encima de la manga (en los hombros) utiliza la misma técnica.

Muestra: 16 p x 32 vtas = 10 cm, medido sobre ounto jersey con las agujas más grandes después de ser bloqueado.
