This pretty beanie has been my go-to hat ever since I made it last Summer.

It’s the perfect weight to wear in a Summer breeze, but warm enough for Winter walks. The jolly pompom serves as a beacon in itself - easy to spot from a distance and instantly friendly & fun.

Worked flat, the subtle crown shaping is cleverly worked on wrong side rows so that the decreases lie flat, and the short back seam means that the stripes can be match-up perfectly, with no end-of-round jog.

The lovely wool/mohair blend is wonderfully soft and the tweedy nepps add great character, but any 4-ply yarn will be perfect and the whole hat can be made from less than 50gm of yarn.
