Named for the wood cutters who originally harvested Logwood in Belize, the Baymen Shawl is perfect for those busy yarns that we all love but don’t know how to use. It begins in one corner & uses increases placed along the center of the shawl to create waves of mesh and garter-stitch reminiscent of the rivers where Logwood trees prefer to grow. The shawl is edged with a bobble-bind-off to give it a fun finish & add a bit of texture without going overboard. Instructions are included for making the shawl with as much or as little yarn as you have available so feel free to pick a yarn that you love and cast on!

20 sts x 28 rows / 4” (10 cm) in garter stitch, blocked

Notes
If you are planning on knitting as much of your yarn as possible, you will need to weigh your yarn first & measure out 20% as a reserve for the Bind Off.

If you’re comparing the charts to the written instructions, you will notice that the instructions to remove markers sometimes happen on different lines depending on which instructions you’re following. Both instructions get the same results, but I was able to be a bit clearer by listing the instructions this way.

If you are making a custom size and don’t make it through all 8 sections as shown in the sample, it’s ok. Just begin the Bobble Bind-Off when you’ve used 80% of your yarn.
