Batani poncho
I love cover ups! Stylish, loose, super comfy. Knitted in the round, it sports a bulky ribbed neckline, a steady increase that adds a bit of extra interest throughout. Rounding up the lower part are the extending mini flaps knitted in garter stitch with small side slits. Finish it up with a single crochet stitch unifying everything with a contrasting yarn to add to the look.
Yarn: Two Layers yarn cakes holding 200 yards each in varying textures, fibers and colors. Color ways shown here “Mellow” for the top and “Want” for the bottom. Knit kits with the free pattern are available at www.yarnz2go.com
Alternatively: Use up your stash! From fingering, sport to bulky yarns. 20 color/texture changes in 20 yard portions each, or use one color and all different textures and weights. 400 yards in total. Anything goes…..
Notions: Two US size 10.5 (6.5 mm) circular needles, 16” and 36” in length.
Crochet hook size G (4 mm) for finishing 4 stitch markers
Gauge: 7 sts and 9 rows in 2” of Stockinette knitting with fingering weight yarn
Written pattern with a photo tutorial.
Enjoy~
