Balancing act
A classic piece with a very contemporary feel. This tunic can go either poolside, the office or out on a date night. Worked in the round from the bottom up, split in half for armholes. Shoulders and pocket get seamed. It looks stylish and comfortable in any size. Enjoy!
For sizes S/M, L/XL, XXL and XXXL. To be worn with at least 3” of positive ease at the bust. Shown here is the S/M size with 5” of ease.
Yarn: Linen, a fingering weight linen/viscose blend with 192 yards (175 m)
C1 Black, lower half, 2 (2/3/3) skeins.
C2 Slate, upper half, 2 (3/3/3) skeins.
C3 Kobalt Blue, pocket, 1 (1/1/1) skein.
Alternatively use a fingering weight yarn,
C1: 315 (360/405/435) yards 288/330/370/400 m C2: 380 (435/480/510) yards 350/400/440/465 m C3: 27 (30/35/40) yards 25/27/32/36 m
Notions:
US size 8 (5 mm) circular needles 32” (80 cm) in length
US size 1 (2.25 mm) needles, either straights, double pointed’s or small circular
2 stitch markers (use different colors)
Darning needle
Gauge:
Body: 16 sts and 23 rows in 4” of stockinette stitch, unblocked, 17 sts x 20 rows blocked
Pocket: 12 sts and 20 rows in 2” of stockinette stitch, unblocked
Techniques: Knit/purl in the round, decreases, place stitches on hold, knit flat in stockinette stitch, very little seaming.
