Basil Cardigan
To celebrate the Basil Cardigan you can save 15% off any Savory Knitting pattern with the coupon code ‘BASIL’. Code expires at the end of day Sunday 3/30/25
The Basil cardigan is worked from the top down. It begins with the garter stitch collar that is shaped with short-rows, increases and decreases. Stitches are picked up along the selvedge edge then the body is worked seamlessly with raglan shaping. The garter stitch button bands are worked as you go so there is minimal finishing.
Shown here in size 2 worn with approximately 6” of ease, I could have easily gone a size down for a fitted look, or sized up for a slouchier cardigan, anywhere in the range of 2-12” of ease is suggested. Please choose what ever amount of ease you prefer. The body is slightly cropped but can be made any length- please plan your yarn purchases accordingly. A longer sweater will require additional yardage.
