A little boxy jacket to take us through the seasons.

Balmoral is quick to knit and easy to wear.

Knitted from the bottom upwards with flattering side seam shaping and a pretty textured yoke for interest, the buttonhole and button borders are worked at the same time as the fronts to avoid too much sewing up at the finishing stage.

The back and fronts are joined using the three needle bind-off method and then the sleeves are picked-up and knitted down, again to avoid later drama.

The sleeve and side body seams provide crucial structure, but all of the shapings are set in from the side seams, making them easy to line up and stitch.

The final finishing touch is the pretty collar, which is picked-up and knitted outwards, but I have found a clever way of avoiding the unsightly seam which usually presents itself when working this way and the result is flattering and pretty.

A really elegant little cardigan which I’m really pleased with - I think it’ll pass inspection and am looking forward to wearing it through the Fall!
