It’s human nature to attempt to master particular skills. In photography, manually operating the aperture is on the path to basic mastery. In knitting, beginner knitters often say using 4ply/fingering yarn, and working basic lace are on their wish lists. This pattern is deceptively simple; a great way to create something that looks harder than it really is!

The pattern is written for 4ply/fingering weight yarn, knit at 8ply/DK weight gauge! This makes it work up super fast, is incredibly yarn economical, and the resulting fabric is deliciously light and airy.

CONSTRUCTION
Aperture is a shrug, seamlessly knit utilising the top down raglan shaping method. You begin by casting on the stitches at the neckline, and working the sleeves and back in one piece, until you reach the required number of stitches across the back for your given size. From here you place the body and sleeves onto waste yarn, and complete the ribbed edgings on the sleeves, and around the body.
