This shawl gently drapes over the shoulders and neatly closes in the front by pulling one end through the other.
Perfect in white for a bride.

Contrasting textures create a lacy and elegant effect. The “closure” is a little tricky, but the directions are very detailed. An easy, quick project for the intermediate knitter, challenging for the advanced beginner.

Yarn
PLYMOUTH YARN ANGORA
(100% angora, 49yds, 10g) 5 balls, color 709
PLYMOUTH YARN EROS II (100% nylon, 165yds, 50g) 1 ball, color 3008

Gauge
14 stitches = 4in/10cm in stockinette stitch with Angora, looser than recommended on the label.

Pattern notes: Start at the neck edge with a band of Angora in stockinette stitch, switch to Eros II and knit in garter stitch. Alternate these 2 bands, working increases in the first row of the Eros II bands. Pick up stitches along the front edges to make the ties. One side is knit flat in ribbing and the other side is knit with a small tube to pull the flat side through.

Finished size (not including the ties)
23in along the top edge
73in along the bottom edge
10in deep measured flat, 11.5in deep when worn
