The Amande socks were inspired by the elegant, elongated shape of almonds, their milky sweetness texture, and their soft, comforting taste.

Amande socks are knit in the round, from the cuff down, with a reinforced heel flap–gusset construction and a rounded toe. The elegant textured pattern, made with a combination of ribs, garter stitch, clusters, and adorned with little nupps, is engaging and pleasant to knit. This pattern is written for circular needles but can be easily adapted to DPN’s.

SIZES 1 (2, 3, 4)
To choose your size, measure your foot circumference at the widest point. The socks are intended to be worn with 1.5 to 2.5 cm / 0.5 to 1‘’ of negative ease.

Foot circumference : 16.5 (19, 21.5, 23.5) cm / 6.5 (7.5, 8.5, 9.5)‘‘
Suggested foot length (adjustable) : 19 (21, 23.5, 25.5) cm / 7.5 (8.25, 9.25, 10)”

GAUGE (after blocking) : 34 sts x 44 rnds to 10 cm / 4” in stockinette stitch worked in the round.

YARN & YARDAGE
Fingering weight yarn (about 400 m / 437 yds in 100 g).
Approximately : 270 (310, 375, 445) m / 295 (340, 410, 485) yds
Sample yarn: Arwetta Classic, Filcolana Color 977 – Marzipan

NEEDLES (suggested size) : 2.25 mm / US 1 circular needles or DPNs, or size to obtain gauge. Sharp needles are recommended for this pattern.

NOTIONS : 1 + 2 stitch markers, tapestry needle, 1 row marker (optional), Crochet hook size 2.25 mm / US B (optional)

Ces chaussettes s’inspirent de la forme élégante et allongée des amandes, de leur texture laiteuse et de leur goût doux et réconfortant.

Les chaussettes Amande sont tricotées en rond, du mollet vers la pointe, avec un talon renforcé et une pointe arrondie. Le motif texturé, composé de côtes, de point mousse, de maille enroulées et ornementé de noppes, est intéressant et divertissant à tricoter. Ce patron a été écrit pour des aiguilles circulaires mais peut être adapté à toute autre méthode.
