I love hand spun art yarns, and hand dyed multi-color yarns, and have collected quite a few. Because of their individuality, they inspire improvisation. I’ve started to capture some of the improvisations in “recipe” form, patterns that include ideas for using the basic structure to improvise your own version with the yarns that you have collected.

Yarn can also mean story, and some of the designs were inspired by scenes or characters from literature.
