BFL Purest Lace
We were very disappointed to learn that our regular supplier of Blue Faced Leicester Laceweight had decided to have all their BFL wool superwash treated from now on. It’s one of our favourite yarns, and that of many of our customers, as it’s perfect for shawls, but superwash wool tends to be slippery and not block so well, and also doesn’t take dye in the same way as untreated wool, so we avoid it.
We were therefore delighted when another supplier mentioned that they had a batch of very high quality British BFL which they were about to have spun. Julie persuaded them to spin a batch of laceweight for us and it dyes beautifully. It’s still the standard weight of 800m/100g and worsted spun in the UK from pure 100% British Blue Faced Leicester Wool. Our supplier called it “Purest” so we’ve kept that description in the name.
