Mari
Mari kid mohair yarn is a especially soft 2-ply knitting yarn.
Mari is spun of fiber from the two first shearings of Norwegian kid mohair goat. Mari is 100% locally produced by Telespinn in Svartdal.
Mari is well suited to shawls, scarfs, children- and baby clothes, and other products that should be soft and delicate to the skin.
Like all our yarns the wool is washed with organic soap, and we only use organic spinning oil in the spinning process. The result is one of the most sustainable and eco-friendly yarns, without compromizing quality. When you are knitting with this yarn you immediately feel that this is a high-quality yarn that knits like a dream.
Mari is named after the orchid Søstermarihånd, which is to be found in Svartdal.
Mari is 170 meter per 100 gram. Knitting needles 22-3,5. Wool wash 30 degrees Celsius. Mari is 80% Norwegian kid mohair and 20% merino wool.
We have around 40 different colors of Mari, all hand dyed. We color the fiber before it is spun, which gives our yarns especially lively colors.
