Silk Patagonia
This natural silk yarn made of the mulberry fibre is marvelous silky soft and easy handled. Our natural silk comes from China; the refined merino wool comes from the South America. The wool is colored in Germany.
Whether you choose pattern or flat sample this silk endears you with the uniform loop structure. This silk mixture is suited ideally for all kinds of the patterns: an open spaces (ajoure) pattern or a three-dimensional pattern like a plait- or an aran pattern. With the silk yarn you can knit any types of the hand knitted fabrics such as pullovers, sweatshirts, scarves, kerchiefs, hats or baby clothes.
Because of the light slip of the silk fibre by the knitting process it is preferable to use wooden or bamboo needles. We recommend you to knit a small sample and then wash it. Silk tends to stretch after the first washings. Hand washing is prescribed for all kinds of silk. Then you should roll your fabric into a towel, press it out and dry in a horizontally position.
Care:
Wash your knitted article best by hand, handwarm at a temperature of not more than 30°, but not in the wash machine. Please use exclusively a detergent for wool and dry the article only placed lying down best on the terry towel to get rid of the deformations! You can also dry it on the foam plastic hangers but far away from the heat source!
