Framlingham BFL/Silk Lace
This is a heavier lace yarn which has great softness and lustre. Our new Linnea Lace tee showcases this yarn and is knit from just 2 skeins. In the skein, the ply is very obvious, but when knitted up it has a lovely smooth appearance that shows great stitch definition.
The BFL is British, the silk is not! It’s a great yarn, named for a lovely market town, the seat of the Earl of Suffolk.
This yarn is superwash treated, but I have not tried it in a machine. If you want to machine wash, I suggest you wash a swatch to find out how it behaves. My recommendation for this and all hand dyed yarn is to wash by hand in gentle ph-neutral detergent. All our yarns have been hand washed twice after the dyeing process, but there may be a slight discharge of dye colour during the first few washes, so for this reason we recommend that dark colours are washed separately for the first few washes.
