Merino Sport is a non-superwash (“NSW”) yarn. Sport weight falls between fingering (or “sock weight”) and DK. It is perfect for knitting up scarves and hats, tops and fine sweaters, and baby clothes. Sport, in fact, is often used in commercial patterns for baby clothes. Many knitters prefer a NSW yarn for knitting warm garments. Over time, the fibers will slightly full and create a warmer garment.
