The beauty of these undyed hanks blooms after a gentle hand washing with warm water and a scouring agent like Synthrapol, Orvus paste, or dishwashing detergent, to remove oils used in the spinning process. After this initial hand washing, proceed to dyeing, or hang hanks to dry, before winding them into balls and using them as is. Once the yarn has been worked into a fabric, it can be machine washed, using the delicate or wool cycle on your machine.
