Knitting: Pullover
I love knitted lace. It can be romantic or modern. It can even manage to be both at the same time. I also love knitting lace – there is such a seductive rhythm. I do not, however, love wearing shawls, the ubiquitous lace project-- hence this sweater, doing its best imitation of a shawl.
Knitting: Pullover
By taking bits of inspiration from styles as far flung as the late Victorian era and the mod 60s, this poncho manages to have a style all its own. And between the extra flare in the sleeves and the nip in at the waist, it is as flattering as it is unique.
Knitting: Earflap Hat
So I have this coat I got at Goodwill and I just don’t have a single hat to go with it. This hat solves the problem nicely – it is warm and stylish and the perfect color. The shape and stitch pattern are a bit unusual but the tweed gives it a classic touch.
Knitting: Stocking
Here’s a hat for when you want to rock the holiday without donning one of those ubiquitous, cheap-fake-fur numbers. For a more subtle flavor, don’t add the needle felting around the brim.
Knitting: Dress
This sweet baby dress decorated with little Eiffel Towers is definitely fashionable enough for Paris.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Tipless gloves are a must have for using a mouse and typing in a less than toasty office space. And they are pretty nice for outdoors, too.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
I love the impact of Fair Isle. This relatively simple pattern has a sophisticated, classic feel.
Knitting: Pullover
This poncho feels so opulent and looks so stylish. And it is so easy to knit that the toughest thing is probably going to be finding the thicker mohair in this modern day of only laceweight mohair.
Knitting: Cardigan
This sweater fits in that perfect groove between rustic and sophisticated. Sometimes the simple motifs have the most impact as this intarsia and surface crochet poppy shows.
Knitting: Cardigan
By knitting lace with such chunky yarn, the perspective and the possibilities change dramatically. In this case, the stitch pattern’s natural scallop forms an unusual button band.
Knitting: Earflap Hat
Earflap hats are warm, hip, and surprisingly easy to make. This one uses such thick yarn, you can start it in the previews and be finished by the credits.
Knitting: Ankle Sock
Socks are great portable projects and contain so much knitting magic. These socks for kids get an extra dose of magic from the adorable little bobbles.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
When spring comes to the Willamette Valley daffodils and robins are everywhere. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t cold. So here is a warm spring hat for those freezing spring days. The angora helps keep it warm and cozy, the motif helps you keep the faith that warm days are almost here.
