Inspired by those hardiest of plants who manage to thrive despite the wind and rain on the precipice of mountains, cliff-tops and long-neglected gardens. Delicate yet resilient, these admirable little plants are represented in the ‘rocky’ lace and floral patterns of this cowl.

Emmer begins at the centre top with a garter tab cast on, increasing evenly downward into a semi-circular shape. The pattern morphs through several different lace patterns, with twisted stitches a common theme throughout the work.

SlipThatch is a brim-up hat, knitted in the round. Cast on for the brim with smaller needles & knit twisted rib for the first inch or two. The needles are then changed to the larger size and the charted/written pattern is commenced. Decreases begin before the crown, remaining in pattern.

Flowing from gentle lace waves to a pattern reminiscent of burning flame, Ardence is a visually appealing yet simple scarf pattern, with matching hat.

Knit from the top down, this hat begins in lovely chunky wool, swapping to the fur wool for the brim. Ear flaps are knitted separately and attached to the brim over your ears.

Construction:

This simple shawl is knit from the top down. Beginning with garter stitch, the shawl increases with yarn overs, merging halfway into the ‘bubbly’ zig-zag lace, and is finished with a short band of garter stitch.
