I have long wanted to design a shawl with a scalloped edge. The shape of the shawl reminds me of a sunrise as well as a big round tree. Hence the name Baobab. The shawl was previously exclusive to the Finnish knitting club Kalakukkojen neuleklubi, of the Ravelry group Kalakukko puikoissa.

An old school friend asked me to knit a thick, heavy cable hat next winter’s cold weather. Because I have a strong tendency to think all my knits thorough, I decided to write a pattern too.
