Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
I chose the name PolkaSocks because the patterning is an accordion rib. Plus my best friend’s husband, who recently retired from teaching, loves polka…and has taken up accordion lessons as a new retirement activity. This pattern offers four different sizes and two cuff ribbing options. Socks are knit from the toe up with a gusset and slip-stitc...

Pattern calls for 3 balls Grande in main color, and 1 ball each of Grande in two thrum colors (thrums actually use much less than 1 ball, so if you only use 1 color for thrums, you still only need 1 ball of the thrum color).
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
These socks are knit from the toe up and feature a garter-rib pattern bordered by narrow cables. Though this pattern is only written for one size, the garter ribbing is stretchy enough to fit sizes ranging from an average woman’s foot to an average man’s foot. Plus, it can be easily made larger to fit a wider man’s foot by using larger needles ...

Knitting: Ankle Sock
This pattern is written for knitting two socks at a time on one long circular needle (magic loop). I recommend a needle at least 32” long -- but I prefer a 40” circular needle for magic loop.

This is a very simple infant sock pattern with a 1x1 ribbed fold-down cuff, short-row heel and stockinette stitch foot. Pattern is written using the 2 circular needles technique, and assumes you already know that technique. Short-row heel technique is also not explained in detail, since there are many sources in books and online for that.
