I was admiring all the new beautiful embellished shoes that are out walking around. However, being on a budget, I didn’t really want to spend extra money on shoes just because they had ruffles! But then I had an idea. I knit.

I designed and knit this shawl for my great aunt Evelyn’s 90th birthday. She lives in the mountains of New Jersey right off of a gorgeous lake. In the winter it gets mighty cold and I wanted to make something warm and cozy that Evelyn could wrap around her self as she goes about her day.

These were inspired by the gloves seen on Dr Horrible’s Sing Along blog worn by Penny.
