The body of this easy-to-knit vest is worked sideways to show off the yarn’s stripes and then the yoke is picked up from the body and worked in Garter stitch.
A simple tripled stranded pullover with gradated stripes created by changing one of the three strands at a time. The yoke and sleeves are worked in Stockinette and the body in Reverse Stockinette.
Four granny squares are joined to make up each mitt, with a slit left unsewn for the thumb hole. A picot edge is worked around the thumb, top and cuff openings. Mitts are identical and will fit either hand.
These garter stitch mittens are worked flat in two directions. The thumb side is worked from cuff to fingertips, and the pinky side is worked sideways from the center of the hand outward.
