Knitting: Cardigan
The popular colorblock unisex Gingersnap Cardigan for babies is now available for bigger kids too! I’ve knit mine with three colors of Rowan Pure Wool Worsted, but this is meant to be a real scrappy sweater and as long as you make gauge and use a soft, machine-washable yarn, you can be thrifty and raid your stash using 3, 4, 5 or more colors. T...
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
This pattern is 100% inspired by the darling French Macaroon sweater that is offered for free on Ravelry from The Noble Thread. I love that pattern so much, and have made a few, that I even designed a baby hat, Tiny Tot, also available for free, to go along with it. When I first saw the sweater and hat on my infant grandson I knew I would have ...
Knitting: Cowl
The Sunriver Cowl is the perfect project for the new knitter. Forget knitting a boring swatch and make a cowl instead. Garter stitch is the way to go for a beginner; the chunky garter texture is a super popular look right now, it’s squishy and grows fast, plus it’s just one repetitive motion and is great practice for gaining command of even ten...
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
Wee Gingersnap is a teensy, dolly-sized replica of my color-block baby cardigan pattern, Gingersnap. Get your doll back-to-school ready with these easy-to-knit pieces. The entire doll ensemble, including sweater, hat, and skirt can be made with one skein of Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted for the main color and scraps for the contrasting stri...
Knitting: Cardigan
I made my sweaters from scraps of Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted leftover from the Martin Storey Afghan KAL and the Kaffe Fassett KAL. In the model sweater, I used a fourth color for the back, but the pattern is written for three colors. This is meant to be a real scrappy sweater and as long as you make gauge and use a soft, machine-washable...
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
Knit a summer top with a baby-doll flared skirt for your 18” doll such as the American Girl Doll, My London Girl and comparable Gotz and Madame Alexander dolls. If you substitute yarn, choose one with a bit of drape so the flared increases can flow and look their best! Tetra Cotton has great drape for this, and for a winter look, use Felted Twe...
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
The Huckleberry Friend PDF is free and contains the pattern for the hat, cardigan, and pleated skirt. The entire ensemble is knit on two needles, but I’ve included directions to knit the hat and skirt in the round if you prefer. The sweater is knit top down, and can be knit with stripes or in a solid color. You can knit all three pieces with on...
Knitting: Baby Blanket
Wrap up baby in cozy stripes. This stockinette blankie uses machine washable All Seasons Cotton in sophisticated baby soft colors.
Knitting: Hanging Ornament
I have a tradition each year to create a new Christmas ornament, making a few to keep and a few more to give away. This year my winter trio is very similar to the Christmas Dollies I made last year but a tad easier with supplies that are easier to find. While I originally created this as an adult project, everyone in the family could certainly ...

Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
This is the third pattern in my series of free knitting patterns for the 18” doll. It’s knit top down, in the round and very easy. Have fun!
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
You’ll have fun knitting this easy top-down cardigan for your 18” doll. Snickerdoodle has puffy sleeves with a gathered bodice and is knit in one piece. Knit with one skein of Truesilk, it offers a way to try out a new yarn while adding to dolly’s wardrobe. Of course, any DK weight will work just as well!
Knitting: Child Doll (American Girl, Sasha, etc)
Little Wing is a simple top down, one piece doll sweater that finishes with a gentle gathered peplum. It opens in the back and is fastened with snaps so little hands can easily manage dressing dolly. The pattern also includes the sewing pattern for the skirt.

You don’t need much more than that to make a little village of these quick and easy to make elves. Directions include knitting pattern for the 3 hat sizes, supplies list and assembly direct...
