In the dynamic 14th issue of YARN Bookazine, we celebrate the concept of Expression, exploring it through fibres that waver and move, expressive shapes and textures, and how we reveal who we are through the creative process.

Many designs in YARN Bookazine 14 - Expression combine various knitting or crochet techniques and are embellished with beadwork or embroidery for extra flair. Garments are inclusively designed to be unisex and suited to most shapes and sizes. Colour palettes are vibrant, fun and cheerful,
contrasting with softer, darker colours giving depth and style. The 16 modern crochet and knitting projects encourage the expression of unique, individual identities. They feature a wide range of yarns, from luxurious Alpaca and Merino to wastewater produced Cottons and a fully recycled blend of Viscose and Wool. The lookbook is divided into four chapters: Flow, Form, Playfulness and Movement, with designs ranging from striking garments to fun homewares and quirky toys. The theme of expression is explored throughout. Interspersed between the projects are captivating features on artists and bloggers who are inspired by the form and movement of their materials. We investigate drape and its impact on the yarns and fabrics we use, as well as highlighting the visual spectacle that fluidity and expression bring through acrobatics, dance, and choreography. Many of the models are professional dancers; the images capture the designs in true motion.
