I’ve made this free collection of traditional patterns for accessories to the men’s folk costume from Gamlakarleby / Karleby / Kokkola (these are the old Swedish, new Swedish and Finnish names of the same town), located in Central Ostrobothnia in Finland. I’ve done this to honour my mother’s heritage.
The crochet patterns are dating back to around 1870. All items are made with strong colours. The primary colours are red and yellow, with details in green and blue.
Some texts in the crochet patterns is in Swedish, but all necessary information is given in English here on Ravelry.
NOTE: It’s not entirely visible on this page, but the bundle contains a draft for tablet woven sock garters based on a woman’s costume from Nedervetil (the photo at the bottom of the bundle’s “cover”). The draft is not available as a single pattern, since drafts for weaving cannot be published on Ravelry.
