It was nearing fall and Johnny Appleseed began his trek across the country. He had vowed to plant apple seeds all throughout the country in order to “decorate” the countryside with the beautiful colors of apples. He checked his backpack for his necessary travel essentials, put on his hat, and was on his way.

As he walked merrily down the dirt path, Johnny would sing. He hummed a familiar tune that mimicked the peaceful bird songs he heard on his travels. He would reach a spacious field and plant seeds. “This will be so beautiful when the trees bear fruit! I’m so very excited and happy,” he would remark to himself and continue on his path. After many weeks Johnny came upon a strange field. It was green like a typical field but the “fruit” it was growing was anything but typical. At first glance he thought that it was growing avocados. He moved in closer to get a better look.

Yes, they were avocados, but they had strange little…ears?! How could this be? He went in closer because he may be suffering from exhaustion and his eyes were deceiving him. But, no, they were avocados, and not only with ears, but legs and tails! Oh my word…it was an Avocat! How could this be? As he got even closer he heard, “Meow, hoooooman! What brings you here to our Avofield?” the Avocat asked.
