Barina had been busily cleaning her home when she heard a knock at the door. It was her Auntie Katt.

“Hello my dear niece! I was wondering if you could do me a huge favor and watch your baby bunny cousin Berta this afternoon? I have quite a few errands to run and I know Berta would be happier spending the afternoon with her favorite cousin Barina versus running errands with me. Would that be alright?” she asked.

“Oh of course! I love babysitting Berta,” Barina said as she giggled while holding her little cousin.

“Wonderful! I hope not to be too long dear. You are a life saver! I’ll see both of you in a few hours,” and she turned and went along her way.

“What shall we do, my dear little cousin? Shall we play a game? Shall we put a puzzle together?” Barina asked while Berta cooed. “Perhaps reading a story with magical adventures might be a little more our style. What do you think?”

“That’s what I thought, too. Let’s go get comfy in my favorite recliner and let our adventure begin.”

Barina went to the her bookcase and pulled out a magnificent book. It had a lovely wooden cover with vines wrapped all along the binding. “Ah, here it is, little one: Magical Adventures in the Realm of Fairies. This is one of my favorite books. Let us begin.” Barina got comfortable and with Baby Berta in her lap began to read.

“Once upon a time, in a land far away, the mountains caressed the sky with snowy kisses and the lush rolling grass blanketed a field of wildflowers. There lived a frollick of magical fairies who were entrusted with the very special job of protecting the countryside from the evil Nixxi the Fairy.

As the story goes, Finley had been born of humble fairy birth. He enjoyed his fairy childhood like most other magical creatures. One day, he happened upon a lovely fairy picking forget-me-nots in the woods. She was a vision of beauty. Finley instantly became enchanted with her. He approached her. “Hello, my name is Finley. Who are you?” he shyly asked.

“My name is Gia. Nice to meet you,” Gia answered and she could feel that it was not just her fairy wings that were fluttering. She could feel her heart racing. Never had she felt this before. She smiled back at Finley and she knew that this was the start of something beautiful.
