This pattern book is a fantastic source of beautiful patterns for babies 0-24 months. It is completely crochet ( no knitting patterns included, as sometimes both knit & crochet are included together in the Japanese Crochet or Knit books). It is written entirely in Japanese, however, if you know that the little dresser drawers rectangular symbol means ~stitches~, the you are set to go! ;-D
There is a good mix of both male & female (plus a few unisex) patterns, & quite a few of the patterns can be worked in worsted weight & be easily adjusted to account for that gauge change. Most of the patterns can be worked ON GAUGE with a 2.5mm hook & sport weight yarns.
There are 34 patterns total with extensive pictures to show how to make the items. I would say that this book would be perfect for the crocheter who has a basic working knowledge of crochet, & can read charts. There is a stitch guide in the back as well to help you with any symbol used in the book, as well as how to make that stitch.
