A trio of hats for boys and men that meet all the very stringent requirements of my family of men.
No girly colors!
Big fold over brim!
Boy approval before knitting begins!
So we cracked open stitch dictionaries and dug through the stash and came up with three boy approved hats.
Armstrong is the easiest of the three with only knits and purls. Armstrong was named by my 11-year old future rockstar after Billie Joe Armstrong.
Benlocke is just a smidge trickier with the addition of some yarnovers and simple decreases. Benlocke was named by my 12-year old cross country runner - he ran by Benlocke Road all the time and decided it was the perfect manly name for a hat!
The Surly Scotsman has cables that are actually a great first cable project and a wonderful opportunity to practice cabling without a cable needle. My crazy husband named that hat and I agreed - as long as he would make some ridiculous faces. He of course obliged.
