Have you ever wanted to feel like you can give something special for someone you know going through cancer or another condition?
A few years ago that was the exact situation that one of my coworkers was in. He saw me knitting during one of our breaks and asked me to help him out. He explained that someone close to him was going through a hard time with a medical issue, and he let me know what color the awareness ribbons were for that issue. Over the next week I did a rough design and made the first prototype of what became the starting point for all of the patterns in this booklet.
Since making that first hat I developed other pieces that I thought would be useful or appreciated while going through chemo or just needing a bit of comfort. The next piece was the wrist warmers, then the bandana.
At this point I realized I had enough patterns to maybe make a book or at least booklet. I did feel that if the patterns were to be in a physical form the person knitting does not need to drain their phone or tablet battery as they are knitting in waiting rooms as a form of escape or meditation. But the down side of a physical pattern booklet is that it costs money to print.
Now for the more boring parts:
All of the patterns are seamless and knit on size 6 / 4mm needles with worsted weight yarn. The patterns all include simple shaping and the same cable motif.
