Notes:
A yarn with no stretch is best for amigurumi, I ordinarily use cotton or cotton blend.
Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round (unless it says otherwise).
For this pattern, the following yarns were used:
o NUDE = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “816 Parchment”
o BLACK = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “Noir” (discontinued)
o RED = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “819 Pomegranate”
I crochet loosely and use a 2.5mm hook with 4ply yarn. Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight to keep stuffing from showing and for any attachments to stay in place.
The yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of the finished item. My Zinzi the Lady Buglar is approximately 22cm tall (8 ½ inches).
I have used embroidered the eyes for this pattern but you may choose to use safety eyes. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
