MATERIALS
• Premier Yarns Afternoon Cotton light (DK) weight cotton yarn
(1 3/4 oz/136 yds/50g per ball):
2 balls each #2011-02 ecru, #2011-32 rosebud, #2011-03 goldenrod and #2011-14 deep jade
1 2, 2, 2, 2 balls #2011-13 pale teal
• Size G/6/4mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers

GAUGE
3 V-sts and 5 rows = 2 inches
12 rows of stacked rows foundation = 4 inches
Take time to check gauge.

PATTERN NOTES
Poncho begins with a stacked rows foundation joined in a ring. Stitch markers are placed in foundation to indicate the 6 increase points. The first round is worked into the sides of the foundation rows, with increases in the 6 marked points. After the indicated number of rounds for the size you are making, the 4 stitch markers at shoulders are removed and rounds are continued with
increase points at center front and back.
Broad stripes of color are created with 4 rounds of the V-stitch pattern, then color is cut and a single round of ecru is worked to
separate stripes.
Always join new color at back, at least 5 V-stitches before center back in direction of work. Keep all tails to wrong side of fabric. When joining colors, it can be helpful to crochet with both the tail and working yarn for a few stitches to make weaving in ends easier.
Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.
Chain-4 and double crochet at beginning of row counts as first V-stitch unless otherwise stated.
