Hat is worked in two parts: Band and Crown (Top of Hat). Band is worked back and forth in rows. Ends of Band are sewn together to form a ring. Crown is worked in joined rnds beginning around one long edge of Band.

A ripple crochet pattern is used in Band. The ripple pattern is easy to do, but it’s important to remember that you may need to work several rows before the ripple pattern becomes clear.
