Zigzag Eyelet Pullover
From ‘Knitting Today’s Classics’: Cotton is the quintessential hot-weather fiber. Available in glossy (mercerized) and matte (natural, untreated) finishes, cotton produces knitwear with a crispness no other fiber can approach. Cables and lace are especially well suited to mercerized cottons because the detailing practically jumps out of the fabric. Cotton sweaters are often quick and easy to knit, allowing them to be completed in time for the hot weather. This fiber is also a great choice for children’s sweaters, as most cotton yarns can be washed and dried by machine. Vertical zigzag stripes of lace are interspersed between panels of garter stitch in this quick-to-knit bright summer pullover. The edges are worked in easy garter stitch. This is a great project for knitters who want to try lace for the first time.
